DRDO develops Netra drone to keep an eye on dark stretches of the capital. Netra drone is developed by DRDO and a private firm IdeaForge for Border Security Force, CRPF.
Netra is successfully deployed at Indian international border to keep an eye in the region. It's success in operation attracts state police to discover possibility in using it in capital.
Delhi Police is also concerned about it's cost. According to experts, dropping few components for Delhi roads like Kevlar and IBM touchpad Netra can become the optimum solution for Delhi roads for patrolling purposes.
Netra project is a symbole of success for DRDO and deshi private firm (ideaForge) partnership. Netra is capable in surveillance and patrolling in night with help of it's night vision camera.
Netra can fly at a height approximately 200 metres. At such height it can cover 3 to 4 kilometers area in a hexagonal. This ensures group of drones patrolling in the region cannot overlap each other's area of surveillance. The drones can join in a quick response team to deliver support at a time of emergency in Delhi.
Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 movie features drone Netra. Making success on international borders Netra is ready to help state police in India to protect big cities from crisis.
