Union Public Services Commission civil services examinations will now have two more attempts to qualify mains exams for all categories. Following the latest chages made in the pattern of mains paper, a group of students met last month with Congress vice-prsident Rahul Gandhi.
UPSC agreed to offer two more attempts to general and OBC cvategories. Now general category can have 6 attempts to clear mains paper. OBC can have 9 attempts to clear mains paper. SC/ST can have as many attempts to clear UPSC civil services exams.
The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on August 24, 2014 this year.
A general category candidate from the age group of 21 years to 30 years may apply for the civil services examination, as per eligibility mentioned in the notification. For OBC candidate upper age limit is 33 and SC/ST are eligible upto 35 years upper age limit to participate in the exam.
